Equal Stages works for change in society through creativity and self-enterprise.
Our Arts Council England-funded Equal Stages Digital Theatre programme is creating a living accessible archive for theatre and the performing arts that is taking a variety of shapes online and in print – the first playwrights and their plays in focus are Kobina Sekyi (The Blinkards), Una Marson (London Calling), Barry Reckord (Skyvers) and Zindika (Paper and Stone).
Our What Now? Beyond Diversity and Inclusion series of books is documenting creativity and self-enterprise in print form – Volumes 1 and 2 are already out: Equal Stages: Standing Up for Identity and Integrity in the Performing Arts (2020), and Building Tables: Empowering Stories of How Black British Founders and Creative Self-Enterprise Are Changing the World (2021). Volume 3 is on its way…
